Sony names YouTube exec Fede Goldenberg head of Screen Gems

Sony Pictures has hired Fede Goldenberg, YouTube's head of TV and film content partnerships, to run Screen Gems. He replaces Ashley Brucks, president since 2023, who moves into a producing role. Screen Gems will keep making traditional genre films and add theatrical projects from "digital-native" creators. The move follows creator-driven hits like Curry Barker's "Obsession," Kane Parsons' "Backrooms" and Markiplier's "Iron Lung." Goldenberg spent 15 years at YouTube and helped drive the "Iron Lung" digital release. He reports to Sanford Panitch.
